OMG. That is ironic. Imagine a small company that is beaten down by the studios and large websites trying to get the word out about their site that can save consumers tons of money!?!

  7. “Chipper loves to hit against the Mets” is the kind of storyline that, once established, can only be confirmed by further developments, not negated. Every HR is “there he goes again.” In reality, he hasn’t done that much better against the Mets than his overall career rates, and his last big year against them was 2003.

Good post and a nice summation of the problem. My only problem with the analysis is given that much of the population joined the chorus of deregulatory mythology, given vested interest is inclined toward perpetuation of the current system and given a lack of a popular cheerleader for your arguments, I’m not seeing much in the way of change.

  12. To the people with shortn memories.I dont think the NHL will ever recover the funds lost after the short season. The NFL has a much shorter season. I find it mindboggling that they cant come to terms. Maybe if the entire season is cancelled the towns lose a fortune, the players lose a fortune and the owners have to find another hobby. Shame aon the owners!!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. Still an impressive resume for a school that has a rather short prep history and Randy Davis has been there for over half of it.

The other point of putting the last games into the tiebreaker would be to keep more teams paying hard the last week. There will always be teams that quit at the end of the season. It’s a fine old tradition that’s supposed to send a message to the owners – Get a new coach & GM!

  33. Id like to think everybody whos been so fervently against this site has heard the phrase all press is good press. This site has gotten national press, mentions on numerous blogs and tons of recognition thanks to all the dedicated protestors. If you are trying to get the site taken down, go for it, whatever but I hope you realize the site has benefited from this more than it has suffered. All the negative press RateBU.com has gotten is either preaching to the choir or introducing the site to new viewers.

  37. I think it would be good to have many more people trained as first responders, and able to deal with crime of this sort. In the event of a terrorist attack, it would be good if at least one person in any given crowd can keep their head, start directing treatment of the wounded, etc. This could be looked at as sort of a second tier of the military reserves or state guard system.
